Leningrad Anti-Plague Biofactory (Based on Materials from the Central State Archive of St. Petersburg)

This article is devoted to the activities of the Leningrad Biofactory for the organization of production of anti-plague biopreparations from the moment of its opening until its liquidation. The author analyzes the activities of the enterprise, noting the diffi culties in its organization and establishing production, and highlights the reasons that predetermined its closure. An analysis of previously unpublished materials from the Central State Archives of St. Petersburg allows us to identify errors and miscalculations in its organization and to reconstruct a more complete picture of the development of veterinary medicine in the USSR as a whole.
