"Lernaean hydra" and the problem of the origin of gnosticism

In the speech of E.V. Afonasin compares the testimony of the heresiologists about the mysterious sect of the "Gnostics" and attempts to assess their authenticity from the point of view of the subsequent history of Gnosticism. Particular attention is paid to one place from the "Stromat" of Clement of Alexandria (Strom. III 29, 1-2 St), which until now has not been considered in this context.
