Forest legislation: do we need historical experience now?

The article analyzes the history of the development of forest legislation and examines the key stages of its formation. As a research goal, the task was set to assess the possibility of using historical experience in the realities of modern law enforcement. On the basis of the analysis, the author formulated proposals for improving the legal mechanisms of forest protection, in particular, the creation of an independent institute of forest protection.
