Ensuring forest fire safety is one of the global problems affecting regional, national and international interests. An analysis of forest fires as a complex negative phenomenon that poses a threat to fire and environmental safety is presented. The criminal-legal aspect of the characteristic of the corpus delicti of crimes stipulated by articles 219 and 261 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is investigated.
