Forest fires in the Republic of Buryatia in the context of climate change

The article discusses the main factors of forest fire frequency in Buryatia, the reasons of fire break-outs, shows the changes in the cycles of major fires in the context of climate change, the cyclicity of natural processes. The author carries out critical analysis of the existing Forest Code of the Russian Federation in the field of preventing and fighting of forest fires, considers existing deficiencies in its provisions. The paper considers the necessity of improving the forest law, including related to the financing of forest fire protection.
