The old believers’ lestovkas and podrushniks from the collection of the Ethnographic Museum of the Peoples of Transbaikalia

Lestovka and podrushnik as deeply symbolic beads and a rug for prostration have become well-known markers of the Old Believers’ culture. There were common foundations in their widespread use, preserved and developed by the Old-Orthodox Christians of different denominations and regions. The specifics of different sub-confessional and territorial cultural groups of the Old Believers was found in the features of their appearance and life. The Ethnographic Museum of the Peoples of Transbaikalia has a curious collection of these objects that deserve the researchers’ attention.
