Personality and history in the Buryat novel of 1970s

The development of the Buryat novel in the way of deeper understanding of a problem of personality in the context of history is reviewed in the article. The Buryat novel in 1970-s is penetrated by the feeling of history, the human fate is connected with the people’s fate. The appearance of the Buryat fiction novel is considered by the author as one of the greatest phenomena of the Buryat culture in the 19th century. Analysis of novels «The year of the fire snake» by Ts.-Zh. Zhimbiev and «The mother-swan» by Ts. Galanov presents peculiarities of figures of speech the authors used. These figures of speech were put in characters creation, in identifying and solving the problem of connections between individuals and people and history. Also the author shows how tropes explain the symbolic meaning of characters, runs back connection between the past and the present, unity of characters’ fates and history of their Motherland and the whole country. In the novel of Ts.-Zh. Zhimbiev the life of a small Buryat settlement is depicted at a time of the Great Patriotic War, the event that had consequences for the world history.
