Between 1902 and 1904, he headed the religious and philosophical journal Novy Put. In 1896, he published the compendium Filosofskiye Techeniya Russkoy Poezii (Te Philosophical Currents in Russian Poetry). Te author of this article presents a review of the works of Pertsov that touch on Mikhail Lermontov, including articles published in newspapers in St. Petersburg and Moscow in the 1910's that have not been republished since them. Te author studies Pertsov's view of Lermontov as the “most religious Russian writer” in the context of the cultural and philosophical views of the Silver Age of Russian Poetry, characterizes Pertsov's critical method, appeals to Rozanov in his works, and conceptual similarities with the works of the Russian émigré philosopher Vladimir Ilʹin
