Personal autonomy as a condition for the optimal development of law and legal awareness in the conception of I. F. Ilyin

The article discusses the conception of law and legal awareness by Ivan Ilyin in the context of its optimum development. By analysis of the philosophical-legal and the social-legal works of Ilyin, the author reveals the correlation between the personal autonomy phenomenon and the level of legal awareness and moral maturity of a person, civicism and law and order in a society. It is concluded, that it is impossible to implement the complex of person’s natural rights without the development of the personal autonomy, which, in turn, is achieved as a result of mutual respect for each other’s autonomy expressed by people.
