Personal characteristics of women diagnosed with breast cancer

The article presents the results of a scientific study carried out within the framework of a project supported by a grant from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, aimed at studying the psychological risk factors for malignant neoplasms in women living in an industrial metropolis and rural areas (RFBR grant No. 20-013-00824). An analysis of the personal characteristics of women diagnosed with breast cancer who are at different stages of the disease, as well as healthy women is presented. It was concluded that there are personality characteristics of women diagnosed with breast cancer associated with their basic beliefs, coping strategies, the level of subjective control, indicators of resilience, personal helplessness, as well as in assessing the quality of life.
