In the era of globalization and digitalization, companies must respond as flexibly as possible to the changing needs of customers. There is also a growing desire among employees for flexible work models, for independence from place and time to perform their official duties. This leads to a reduction in stationary jobs in offices and an increase in mobile jobs or to work in their own living quarters. Working outside an employer’s office involves changing requirements for the competence of managers and an understanding of leadership. Since the mid-90s of the last century, one can observe a growing trend towards decentralization, mobilization and technologization of office work. In the course of these changes, the requirements for leadership also change, which opens up a field of contradictions between control and trust, proximity and distance, integration and separation. The topic of leadership is undergoing constant changes under the sign of the “the vector for digitalization”. The relevance of the topic of the article is due to the constantly growing supply of mobile jobs from employers and the equally growing demand from employees. The article examines in detail remote leadership and the skills necessary for its development as the most important factor of success in the modern world of work.
