Linguistic characteristics of Russian and Chinese folk tales in the national-cultural aspect

This article is written in the mainstream of Linguistic and Cultural Studies and describes the main linguistic characteristics of the Russian and Chinese folk tales. The author starts with the fact that fairy tales as the folklore genre reflect socio-cultural values of a nation, forming the national language picture of the world. The author regards several traditional images expressing the national specificity. The following means of artistic expressivity actively used in fairly tales are analysed: constant epithets and stereotype units (formulae of the beginning and ending). The comparative aspect of studying linguistic (more widely - general philological) characteristics of the Russian and Chinese fairly tales gives novelty and actuality to the study.
