Linguistic means of expression of the semantic field of intellectual activity in French

The paper uses cognitive-linguistic methods to study some means of expression of the intellectual activity in French language. The author analyses three hypotheses: 1) concept of the intellectual activity in French is to be connected with the idea of the subject of the intellectual activity, “intellectual”, 2) differentiation in the semantic field of the intellectual activity is to be done in connection with philosophical and psychological notions of the intellectual activity, 3) verification of the concepts of the intellectual activity is to be done as exemplified in the works of French literature with the key part of the thinking subject, “intellectual”.
