Linguistic modelling of artistic images as cultural codes

Statement of the problem. An actual direction of modern linguistics is the development of methodological tools that explicates the ways and means of speech influence, specifically in the field of artistic communication. Of particular interest is the linguistic modeling of a system of images that go back to the fundamental axiology of linguistic culture, and, accordingly, have significant orienting potential. Thus, a problem field is formed, the content of which includes the identification and systematic description of culturally labeled images as tools for effective influence on the addressee. Linguistic modeling of such images includes conceptual and representational aspects, that is, the design of conceptual areas and the choice of linguistic representations that objectify these conceptual areas in the construction of figurative reality. The focus of this research is the image of the garden as a cultural code that controls the process of constructing possible worlds in artistic discourse. The purpose of the study is to identify conceptual areas and means of linguistic modeling of the garden image as a controlling parameter of discursivization. The research methodology is based on the systematization of modern scientific developments in the field of cognitive linguistics [Boldyrev, 2013; Lakoff, 2004; Croft, Cruse, 2004]; linguoculturology [Afanasyeva et al., 2019; Zykova, 2017; Language, culture, society..., 2023]; linguistic axiology [Linguistics and Axiology..., 2011; Serebrennikova, 2017; Kolmogorova, Kozachina, 2020]; linguistic pragmatics [Chernyavskaya, 2021; Yule, 2000]. The work uses methods of discursive, interpretative, contextual, and linguoaxiological analysis. Research results. The study identifies conceptual areas of linguistic modeling of the garden image in the British artistic discourse: external effects, inner sensations, professional activities, social relations, and philosophy of life. In the domain of external effects, the following image constituents have been identified: beauty, elegance, brightness, and harmony. In the sphere of inner sensations, a wide range of emotions have been conceptualized. In the domain of professional activities, the image of a landscape designer has been explored. In the sphere of social relations, the affiliation with a social group as a marker of social identity has been outlined. In the context of the philosophy of life, the vector of humanization of the natural habitat of a linguistic personality is modeled. It is established that the image of the garden is an axiological attractor that forms a system of value-evaluative coordinates of discursivization.
