The article deals with the linguo-cognitive peculiarities of the concept of individualism regarded as one of the underlying concepts of the American worldview. Special attention is paid to the linguistic manifestation of the given concept. The analysis is based on the novel «One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest» by Ken Kesey.
