The concept of “war” in linguistic culturology: the semantic kernel, the aspects of hermeneutic research

The subject of this article, on the one hand, is the key semantic components that are substantial for ordinary consciousness and, on the other hand, is the precedent word- combinations that exist in different varieties of the military and political discourse. In the latter case the different aspects of the contemporary geopolitical confrontation are fixed. These two language phenomena are interpreted on the basis of elementary semantic oppositions such as “Life – Death”, “State – Population” et al.
