In modern cognitive linguistics, metaphor is considered as the main way of knowing the world and one of the most important means of creating a language. Metaphor in its diversity is an integral part of the language of politics, where it has proven its effectiveness by influencing the worldview and people’s behavior in society. In this article, we explore the levels of interaction between language and politics expressed in the metaphorical modeling of American and Russian political discourses, and also identify the features of their formation and functioning.
