Linguacultural characteristics of construction terms as a means for forming and transmitting the image of advanced countries

Бесплатный доступ

The article is devoted to the description of construction terms used in Russian and Chinese to denote characteristic elements of buildings (roofs, walls, courtyard and room shapes, etc.). The material is drawn from terminological dictionaries, from which lexemes of the construction sphere were collected using the continuous sampling method. The results of the study demonstrate how terms can reflect the features of the linguacultural worldview of speakers of different languages through concepts like the palace, the Kremlin, the house, etc. The importance of translation work in interlingual contact in the professional sphere is emphasized. The results of the work can be used in compiling bilingual terminological dictionaries containing linguacultural comments. The correct use of both traditional nominations and neologisms related to IT construction, coupled with decoding the information embedded in them, allows for effective and successful intercultural interaction in the professional sphere between Russia and China.
