Linguocultural features of the Russian folk tale "The frog princess"

The article reveals the linguocultural features of one of the most famous Russian folk tales. This refers to the tale "The Frog Princess". First, the plot of the story and the analysis of the images of the central characters - Vasilisa the Wise and Ivan Tsarevich are given. In addition, the connection of the events described in the tale with the supposedly existing in the primitive tribe, where this plot first arose, initiation traditions and totemic beliefs is also revealed. And, finally, from the linguacultural and historical point of view, several traditions described in the tale are considered, namely the search for a bride for the prince by shooting an arrow and dancing at the Rusalia festival.
