The article deals with the analysis of linguo-pragmatic mechanisms in the autobiographical book by Stephen Fry “Moab is my washing pot”. Self-identity statements, based on the correlation of self-reference and self-presentation categories, are used as the material for analysis. Based on the statements analyzed and on the four types of self-reference: direct, indirect, inferential and inclusive one, the classification of models of Stephen Fry's self-performance is introduced. Special attention is paid to the strategies of self-criticism, as well as to the bright features of Stephen Fry's individual style, such as self-irony and literary game with the reader. The quantitative and linguistic analysis leads to the conclusion about the ego-centricity of the autobiographical text, about the interdependence of the autobiographical narration strategies and the image of the author.
