Sunflower lines with different expressivity of tocopherol mutations in the seeds

«OIL CROPS» Scientific bulletin, VNIIMK, 2006, is 2 (135). Genetic collection of sunflower for tocopherol composition in the seeds is composed with 18 lines of different origin. The tph1 mutation is relatively stable whereas tph2 shows the wide range of phenotypic variability in different genetic background. This phenomenon should be taken into account in breeding for enhanced tocopherol profiles to increase oxidative stability of the oil.
