The author analyzes the frontline lyrics of Afghan soldiers to determine their axiological significance, exploring the origins, essence, poetics, key archetypes, and functions of their work in terms of self-representation, memory preservation, and non-instinctive spirituality. The author draws on the research of philosophers, cultural scientists, philologists, and historians, as well as authentic sources (published poetry and song collections by participants in the Afghan campaign). The methodological framework is based on semiotic, hermeneutic, and empirical methods. The study is structured around three fundamental aspects defining the subject matter: ethical, ethnopolitical, and military-professional. An analysis of the ethical dimensions revealed a complex set of moral and ethical dilemmas manifested in the specific actions of military personnel, characterizing them as bearers of high moral values and worthy successors to the traditions of the Russian army. An ethnopolitical analysis revealed a complex of ideas and values that are revealed in the dialectical unity of international duty and patriotic love for the Motherland. This interconnection was found to be a source of psychological resilience and moral support, linking personal experience and national identity. A thesis was developed regarding the continuity of spiritual and moral principles as the foundation of the Soviet soldier's patriotic consciousness, representing an established system of coordinates that determines the individual's behavior and worldview in the face of geopolitical challenges. An analysis of the military-professional aspect focused on the specifics of military activity, professional training, and ethics. The following value orientations were identified: loyalty to duty, friendship, military brotherhood, professionalism, responsibility, and a willingness to sacrifice, which influenced the motivation of military personnel, their ability to complete assigned tasks, and their resilience to traumatic factors. It has been established that "Afghan folklore" is a sociocultural phenomenon that has accumulated features of folklore tradition and the author's self-expression. An analysis of the songs' themes and imagery reveals connections to archetypal layers of Russian national consciousness and military culture. Emotional authenticity and stylistic simplicity are key to understanding the authenticity of the works and their ability to impact the listener. The author concludes that the lyrics of "Afghan" songs reflect the connection between generations and the fundamental ideological principles that shape the national identity traditionally characteristic of Russian culture.
