Lichen communities in the Kolguev island

We confirmed the low typological diversity of lichen communities in the Kolguev Island. There are dwarf-shrub-moss-lichen communities on sandy soil and cloudberry-dwarf-shrub-lichen-moss – on peat palsa bogs. For the first time the sparse willow-dwarf-shrub-moss-lichen tundra has been described in Kolguev. These communities relate to zonal, which confirms the validity of attributing the north-western part of island to typical tundra subzone.
