This article deals with a new typical character appearing in soviet literature of the 20s and the 30s of the twentieth century, whom I.Ilf and Y.Petrov call «a halturtragger». «A halturtragger» is an untalented writer that makes some literary works to order, just for sale. The character of such type can be seen in literary works of M.Zoschenko, I. lf, Y.Petrov, V.Kataev.
