Russian literary magazines of Paris: a short voyage of “The new ship”

The article is concerned with the history of literary magazines issued in Russian in Paris of 1920-1930s. The study is focused on peculiarities of their content. Some magazines were originally conceived as literary editions. The others, at first, were issued as news magazines and then their main subjects were connected with literature. The former were more popular among the readers than the latter. The article examines experience of the magazine “The New Ship” (1927-1928). The problem in focus is studied for the first time. The authors of the article make an attempt to determine the reasons for the lack of public interest in the magazine “The New Ship”.
