It analyzes the published and unpublished sources about the Mordovian sculptor Stepan Erzya, written by an Argentine journalist Luis Orsetti. It reveals the meaning of “ethno-cultural factor”, the ethno-ethics of the Mordovian people, for the worldview of the sculptor.
