The Macedonian issue in the foreign policy of the Balkan states (Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia and Romania) in the late XIX - early XX century

The purpose of the article is to study the fierce political and ethno-religious struggle of the Balkan states (Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece and Romania) for dominance in the Macedonian lands in the late XIX - early XX century, and also to reveal key aspects of the relationship between various ethno-confessional groups in Macedonia at the beginning of the XX century. The author examines the methods, techniques and means of implementing cultural, religious and national propagation which was carried out by ruling circles of the Balkan states in relation to the local Slavic population of Macedonia.
