Macroeconomic effects of progressive taxation

The purpose of the article is to analyze the impact of progressive personal income taxation on economic growth. The results of the regression analysis show that the progressivity of the personal income tax scale for the period under review has a strong negative impact on the annual growth rate of real gross product with a lag of 3 years, both when using gross domestic product and in terms of GDP per capita. This suggests that there is a negative relationship between personal income tax progressivity and macroeconomic growth.
