1571-1572 were the peak of the crisis for the Moscow state. The most difficult war with the Crimean Khan, the intense struggle in the west weakened the garrisons of the eastern provinces, provoking a new threat. Reactionary sentiments among the peoples of the Kazan Khanate, with the support of the Siberian Khanate, led to an uprising of some Cheremis, Ostyaks, Bashkirs and Buin, during which the main route of the Stroganovs' goods to Russia was cut. The article examines the events that defined the Ermak expedition and the fate of the Stroganovs' private army in the XVII century.
