The paper is concerned with theoretical foundations of social adaptation and professional mobility among young people in Russian and regional labor markets where in recent years there remains an imbalance between supply and demand of manpower in terms of qualifications required and level of corresponding skills. The authors analyse available statistical data and research results obtained by other authors concerned with problems of professional identity among young people and with teaching entrepreneuship in regional system of higher education, development of family business in the context of Penza region. Short practical recommendations about optimisation of employment among young specialists, facilitation of their social adaptation and professional mobility in terms of regional labor market are provided.
