Small town as a space for the genesis of the personality: problems and prospects of development

The article is devoted to the identification of the problem areas and promising directions for the development of small towns as a space for the genesis of the personality of their residents. The main challenges in urban development are a difficult economic situation, a low standard of living, a weak infrastructure development, negative demographic trends. To the advantages that have prospects for implementation in the programs of urban development can be referred the aesthetics of the small town, its ecology and temporality, rich historical and cultural heritage.
