Mathematical model of a biological reactor

Бесплатный доступ

The mathematical description of the growth of microbial populations in a biotic reactor is based on the apparatus of ordinary differential equations. The growth of cell biomass is described by the autocatalysis equation. It is taken into account that the specific rate of biomass growth can be limited by the rate of substrate processing, taking into account substrate oppression. The model of a flow-through biological reactor assumes the uniformity of the distribution of products in the reactor in the case of ideal mixing and the possible presence of diffusion displacement. The main task is to estimate the values of the threshold feed rates of the substrate, exceeding which leads to the leaching of biomass.
