This article discusses the mathematical apparatus for constructing a spatial scanner for a distributed information processing system. Spatial scanners allow detecting spatially modulated signals in a distributed input field. They are also used to configure spatial filter parameters that are necessary for selecting the specified spatial modes (highways) from the distributed input effect. Spatial scanners and spatial filters together form a distributed signal processing unit.
