Saratov region 2008 red book materials. Report I. New data of protected species

New data on the distribution, abundance dynamics, and poorly studied ecological aspects of some rare and disappearing species and subspecies of plants (Dryopteris carthusiana, Lychnis chalcedonica) and animals (Оeneis tarpeia, Eremias arguta, Dendrocopos medius medius) entered in the second edition of the Saratov region 2006 Red Book are presented on the basis of the results of our field 2007-2008 surveys. New limiting and eliminating biotic, abiotic, and anthropogenous factors causing destabilization of rare and disappearing species populations in the region have been revealed and the known ones are analyzed in more details, more effective recommendations for reduction of their negative influence on the flora and fauna have been developed.
