Maternity capital as a measure of state support for large families in the Russian Federation

In many countries, including the Russian Federation, there are additional measures to support motherhood, fatherhood and childhood. An example is the maternity capital program, which has been implemented in Russia since 2007. This article is devoted to study the nature of the parent capital, the conditions of its production, usage trends and the impact on the population of the country, and presents an analysis of the dynamics of the size of the parent capital and number of issued certificates to receive it. The paper also considers the distinctive features of the regional maternity capital of the Sakhalin region. In addition, the analysis of the awareness and opinion of the population of Russia and the Sakhalin region about the maternity capital program was carried out.
