The article provides a brief analysis of the mediation procedure as an alternative mechanism for protecting the rights and interests of citizens in civil proceedings. Along with the disclosure of the concept of mediation procedure in civil proceedings, an attempt was made to identify the problems arising in the resolution of disputes through the mediation procedure, and methods for their solution were proposed.
