Mediation in Russia: legal basis of its emergence and development

The article dwells upon legal basis of national mediation emergence. The author points out that despite revitalization of judicial mediation and the prospect of extrajudicial mediation development the new alternative means to regulate disputes and conflicts is still imperfect and underdeveloped. It is stressed that mediation development is essential for civil society.
