Audience's media literacy as the means of protection (based on the topic "Sochi Olympics 2014")

The article focuses on media literacy approach to news content in mass media related to the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. Using a multitude of cases the author analyses the main patterns on how news can deviate from reality and provides examples, describing tricks and tips which can be used to recognize fake news and factoids, verify facts and distinguish manipulation. Audience Media Literacy is proved a key protection mechanismfrom fake news content.
