The actualization of the concept of media convergence in the modern research discourse is explained by transformational processes in the information and communication sphere and the rapid growth of convergent technologies in the practices of digital media communications of the 21 century. The novelty of the work is determined by the formulation of the problem: the need to combine the institutional effects of convergent models of the media industry and the "human dimension" of the processes of transformation of social systems. The author comes to the conclusion that the process of digital media convergence manifests itself not only within the boundaries of the media industries; it radically changed the system-structural quality of the entire digital media space, its functional characteristics, and defined a new subjectivity of media processes. Media convergence leads to transformational processes not only in the professional activity of the media industry, but also determines the development of all social processes, changes a person's daily life, his or her privacy. This allows us to present the phenomenon of media convergence not only in the institutional dimension, but also as a problem of a socio-anthropological nature.
