Medical workers of Russia and their struggle against children's mortality (case study of the Russian medical periodicals of 1894-1914)

The article describes the attitude of medical workers to children's mortality as a social problem basing upon the study of the Russian periodicals of the turn of the 20 th century. The author reviews the reasons of the children's mortality, and suggestions on how to control it. The research considers the views of the most active members of the medical community, reflected in the medical periodicals.
