A. A. Izmailov and K. I. Chukovsky. The article analyzes the reasons why medical discourse becomes part of literary criticism. The role of fiction in these processes is traced, which in many respects has become a source of increment in the language of literary criticism, a trigger that has launched the mechanism of saturating the language of reviews and feuilletons with medical terminology, which has made medical discourse part of the analysis of modern literature. A number of examples show the use of medical terminology in literary criticism. Comic techniques are considered, in which medical terminology plays a key role. Specific examples of reviews and feuilletons are traced, in which a sharply sarcastic attitude of critics to frank manifestations of naturalism is revealed.
