Medication in period of hospital treatment of men with mental pathology: incidence and VEN-analyses

Abstract: Aim: taking VEN-analysis used at hospital treatment stage of males with mental pathology. Materials and methods: medication used for treatment of adult males (91), hospitalized to Smolensk regional psychoneurological clinical dispensary, 5 doctors estimating every preparation prescribed by them on the basis of 3 criteria (V, E and N). Results: the average number of preparations prescribed to one patient 3,95±1,6. The most frequently prescribed clinical preparations refer to the categories of vitally necessary and important ones according both to formal and expert analysis. However the degree of agreement between the formal criterion correlating the preparations to vitally important and expert opinions of preparations importance degree is low. Conclusion: it is necessary to improve the estimation mechanism and revise regularly the List of vitally necessary preparations taking into account the results of both clinical and sociological research.
