The medical social characteristics of children for the first time declared handicapped owing to congenital heart disease in Altai territory

In Altai territory in the structure of all congenital malformations resulting in physical inability of children, congenital heart diseases prevail. The aim of the research was to study factors influencing development of primary disablement of children with the given pathology. Methods of a structural and analytical grouping by quantitative and attributive characters were used; medical sociological research was carried out. According to the research results, image of life of families, bringing up disabled children with congenital heart diseases, is characterized by the attributes of medical demographic illbeing, financial problems. More than half of women by the moment of impregnation had some kind of somatic pathology. About 1/3 of mothers of the main group did not plan pregnancy, pregnancy was desired only for 50% of mothers of disabled children with congenital heart disease. Practically 1/2 children recognized as disabled owing to the given pathology has experienced fetal hypoxia or/and influence of virus agents. When comparing main and control groups, significant distinction were noticed in the main group - the influence of adverse factors which probably lead to the birth of children with congenital heart disease.
