The article presents data on the prevalence of health and social and psychological factors that determine the formation of adherence to treatment of hypertension in workers of the coal industry of Kuzbass. Low awareness of having a hypertension, mainly among women was revealed. Level of education is a factor influencing the frequency of hypertension, regardless of gender. Significantly high levels of personal anxiety, compared with men were revealed in women with hypertension. Women have a more negative attitude to the treatment and do not trust the therapeutic strategy of the attending doctor.
