The article examines various forms of the Roman Catholic Church's participation in European countries' law-making at the present stage. Religion still plays an important role in public space, and the Church in some cases contributes to determining policy directions by influencing the state. Against the background of democratization of the legislative process in European countries, the role of the Roman Catholic Church as a permanent participant-expert in this process is noted. The political success of the Catholic movement in Western democracy has to do with understanding the changing role of religion in the political arena. The elements of the mechanism for the Roman Catholic Church's participation in European law-making, both at the pan-European level of the European Union and at the level of individual countries such as Germany, Austria, France, Italy, etc., are outlined.
