The article substantiates the relevance of the introduction of organizational and economic mechanisms to ensure the availability of food for the population. The characteristic of the "pulling" principle of the state support of the agro-food market on the basis of the mechanism of internal food aid is given. The algorithm of choice of food for inclusion in the list of regional programs of food aid is offered. The basic scheme of realization of the mechanism of internal food aid is characterized. The effect of implementation of programs of internal food aid is considered.
