Monitoring mechanisms of sociopsychological strain in societies of Belokrinitskie Old Believers (basing on the West Siberian materials)

This paper is aimed to elicit mechanisms of control mechanisms of social tension in Old Believers’ communities during the twentieth century in different historical contexts. All materials were collected by authors within the researches of Siberian Ethnographical Crew, affiliated to Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Science. West Siberian Old Believers attach a particular value to such topics as so called “outward devotion”. They prefer to solve this problems in public, at community and eparchial meetings, where conflicts are discussed and clarified.
