"Arab Hollywood's" melodramas: factor of Islam

The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the emergence and development of melodrama’s genre in cinema of Egypt, the most powerful and influential in the Arab World. In the context of historical, cultural and ideological situation it traces correlative commandments of Islam and its influence on contents of national melodramatic films. Particularly the article tells about significant in history of Egyptian Cinema films “Leila” (1927), “Children of noble parents” (1932), “Struggle in the valley” (1954), “The unknown women” (1959). Besides of it, the article mentions Arab audience’ likings, hard determined by Islamic religion. In the end author say about place and role of melodramas in cinema process in Egypt, explain reasons of their stable success in the areal of Middle East and Northern Africa.
