Local self-government in the system of constitutional law of the Russian Federation: evolution over the past three decades (1993-2023)

The article considers the concept, essence, main stages of the formation and evolution of local self-government as the most important institution of constitutional law over the past three decades (1993-2023). The features of public legal regulation of local self-government are determined in the conditions of constitutional modernization caused by the update of the Constitution of the Russian Federation (2020). The range of problems are identified aimed at updating local self-government in the system of unified public authority.
