One of the issues of modern society affecting the health and well-being of people is the lack of motor activity. This is especially true for citizens whose professional activity is intellectual rather than physical. As a rule, these are employees with a high level of education and qualifications. The article aims to identify the role of physical culture in everyday life of knowledge workers. The empirical basis of the study consists of the results of 10 in-depth interviews (the age of respondents is 23-75 years; 5 men and 5 women). The results of the study demonstrate the respondents' awareness of the benefits of physical culture for health in a situation of insufficient natural physical activity. The majority of the respondents include sports in their everyday life, but not always to the proper extent: it is often just one of the ways of recreation or a forced measure due to health problems.
